Waveller Acoustics
Introduction
Waveller Acoustics is a powerful Helmholtz-equation solver that is controlled using it's own input data format. Converting meshes and setting simulation variables has been a rather tedious task until now. The solver is implemented as a plug-in to a widely used engineering software, Comsol Multiphysics. Simulation geometry can be created and simulation material parameters set using Comsol's graphical user interface, and this information is exported to the Waveller Acoustics plug-in, which in turn computes the resulting acoustic field using the UWVF-algorithm. The result can be visualized and further post-processed using Comsol Multiphysics' versatile post-processing facilities.
Ease of use
Using the plug-in, the user doesn't need to concentrate on the details of the Waveller Acoustics solver. Instead, the time is spent on the actual design of the geometry and it's properties and evaluating the results. The workflow when using the plug-in is exactly the same as when using the standard Comsol Multiphysics. However, the command-line version of Waveller Acoustics is also included in the package.
Simulation benefits
The Waveller Acoustics solver has been benchmarked and compared to standard finite element method (FEM) solvers (see Benchmarks). The key benefit is that Waveller Acoustics uses considerably less time and memory to compute the same wavefield compared to standard FEM solvers. The user gets the result faster and is able to model larger volumes and more detailed geometries with even higher frequencies.
Comsol Multiphysics cluster-enabled
Not only Waveller Acoustics is a superior solver on one processor -- with the Waveller Acoustics cluster plug-in the user is able to model large-scale simulations using Comsol Multiphysics as a front-end. Beowulf-style commodity hardware clusters provide a cost-effective solution for simulations requiring tens of gigabytes of memory, and with the cluster plug-in Comsol Multiphysics can utilize this increased computing power. The usage of the cluster plug-in is equivalent to using the single processor plug-in, data transfer between the front end (Comsol Multiphysics) and cluster is done automatically.

Waveller ElectromagneticsThe first results using Waveller Electromagnetics are available in article Solving Maxwell's Equations Using the Ultra Weak Variational Formulation and in the screenshots-section. The mathematical formulation of Waveller Electomagnetics is extremely useful for solving electromagnetic field related wave problems in many application fields. We are currently seeking collaborators for developing a COMSOL plug-in for Waveller Electromagnetics.
